UFC 146! It’s all about the Heavyweights! But don’t forget, Mike Brown is in action, Dan Hardy returns to the Octagon, Glover Teixeira finally arrives, Mayhem Miller is trying to undo his previous performance, Jamie Varner has worked his way back, Bigfoot jumps to the UFC and much much more!
MAIN EVENT
-Heavyweight Championship-
Junior “Cigano” Dos Santos (239) vs. Frank Mir (261)
Don’t be fooled by the weight, Mir is in great shape, lots of muscle. Dos Santos is fantastic shape of course. Dos Santos showcases the reach of his punch at the face off. Can’t help but be concerned for Mir’s chin, and yet equally concerned for Dos Santos’ joints should Mir apply that weight advantage.
Cain Velasquez (240) vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (264)
Bigfoot cut 20lbs for this fight. Velasquez in super focused! Serious staredown! Can’t wait to see how this plays out!
Roy “Big Country” Nelson (254) vs. Dave “Pee Wee” Herman (233)
Nelson seems to have packed some his weight back on. Less muscle and 10lbs more than he was at UFC 143.
Stipe Miocic (245) vs. Shane Del Rosario (246)
Del Rosario is a softer Heavyweight, but it’s great to see him back in action after his accident. Miocic is a beast.
Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve (255) vs. Lavar “Big” Johnson (248)
Johnson is a big, big man, but Struve towers over him and has clearly continued his efforts to put on more weight/muscle.
PRELIMINARY FIGHTS
Diego Brandao (145) vs. Darren Elkins (145)
Nothing noteworthy.
Edson Barboza (155) vs. Jamie Varner (156)
Varner is absolutely solid looking. Barboza is in outstanding shape.
Jason “Mayhem” Miller (185) vs. CB Dollaway (186)
Dollaway look way more muscular than ever before. Mayhem out does Kingsbury’s pink! Miller is in the best shape yet! Both of these guys have transformed considerably. These two HATE each other right now. Miller thinks so little of Dollaway that if he loses he says he will retire.
Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy (170) vs. Duane “Bang” Ludwig (171)
Ludwig looks unusually soft. Crowd goes nuts for Hardy! Hardy looks good, not as cut as usual but his back is huge and apparently cut very little weight this time around. Great faceoff.
Jacob Volkmann (155) vs. Paul Sass (156)
Nothing noteworthy.
Kyle Kingsbury (205) vs. Glover Teixeira (204)
Kingsbury looks like an absolute beast! -Despite the skimpy pink tights and creepy mustache- and dawns a Wrestling Singlet for the faceoff! Totally weird and comedic.
Mike Brown (145) vs. Daniel “The Pit” Pineda (146)
Pineda looks great, but Brown is always in fantastic shape. This is going to be a great way to kick off the event!
