How to make your own Grappling Mats. Check it out!
No matter what Martial Art you practice, or how far you want to take it, you will always need mat space. Let’s face it, with MMA on the rise and Traditional Schools struggling to compete with it’s popularity, prices are higher than ever. What’s worse, opening your own school is harder than ever and expensive. While many obstacles arise in putting a school together, one common problem remains universal: The Mats. What kind do you get? Wrestling Mats? Judo Mats? Which Mat is the most Sanitary? Is Portability important? Do you want your Mats to be Permanent? What about Wall Pads?
Well, Rener Gracie has a solution, and while there’s many options and variations, we think the Gracie Mat is one of the best out there. It’s cheap, you can do it yourself (might want to call some friends!) and is easy to customize. Most important, it’s easy to clean, won’t give you Judo Toe and can be taken down with relative ease. Another plus, it’s not heavy!
Check out the video below to learn how to create your own Gracie Mat, which can be used of course for BJJ. But it’s safe for Wrestling and Judo, but supportive enough for Kickboxing -as long as your not soaking wet! Making this a perfect, cheap MMA mat to practice your skills without having to pay too much. Also, it looks good. Really good.
